Dexter Cattle

After 8 years of Highland cattle pasture raising, we are going to give Dexter cows a try this year. The Dexter cows (heritage breed)  are even older than the Highland, they are descended from the black cattle of the early Celts. They originated in Ireland. They are known to offer the same rustic qualities while being smaller and very easy to handle. They are dual purpose, being raised for both milk and meat. Sometimes they are also used as oxen.
